Child Screening System developed by 2i for joint Health and Education services

Feb, 2020

The Government of Malta issues this service whereby parents of children as young as 18 months are offered to opportunity to have their children screened to ensure a healthy development throughout their younger years.  The scope of the LENTI system developed by 2i is to ensure a smooth and easy way for screeners, college staff, and parents alike to monitor a holistic health development for children.

The process starts by sending a screening invitation addressed to the parents of children which are 18 months of age.  If the parents consent, a survey is conducted where a few questions are asked to the parents about the behaviour of their child in general.  Following the results of this survey, the child is either dismissed, or referred to another specialist, where more in-depth analysis is conducted.  The results from the survey and the referral will then determine whether the child requires assisted learning in school.
